Bishop Sabino Issues Decree Granting Faculty for Reservation of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Hendry Ariku
Chapel, Ombaci Parish
The Bishop of Arua Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, has issued a decree granting faculty
for the reservation of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Hendry Ariku Chapel, Ombaci Catholic Parish.
The decree was announced during a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Bishop at
Holy Cross Ombaci Parish, which also coincided with the Confirmation of hundreds of young Christians
who, having completed their catechetical formation, were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Bishop Sabino commended the faithful of Ombaci Parish for their unity, strong faith, and consistent
commitment to diocesan life. He praised the parish for its exemplary cooperation and prompt support
for diocesan administration and development initiatives, noting that Ombaci is increasingly becoming
a model parish within the Diocese.
The Bishop expressed special gratitude to the parish for being among the first to respond to diocesan
appeals, particularly in supporting initiatives such as Jegejege, health schemes, and the formation of
major seminarians. He also acknowledged the positive response from schools in and around Ombaci toward
seminarian formation.
Emphasizing the Church's current call to local self-reliance, Bishop Sabino highlighted the importance
of strengthening stewardship, community ownership, and sustainable local initiatives. He encouraged continued
collaboration through empowered clergy and laity, Small Christian Communities, and responsible use of local
resources to ensure both spiritual and financial sustainability of the local Church.
