Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki calls for more vocations to religious life among young people
Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki has called for increased vocations to religious life among young
people during a pastoral visit to Christ the King Chapel, Ocodri. During the visit, he granted
faculty for the reservation of the Blessed Sacrament, officiated at Holy Matrimony, and confirmed
young Christians into the Catholic faith.
The faculty was granted under strict canonical conditions, including the availability of a
duly prepared minister, proper observance of sanctuary lamp regulations, responsible stewardship
by the catechist, and a securely constructed and conspicuously located tabernacle in accordance
with Canon 938 paragraph 2. The parish priest is also required to ensure the regular renewal of the
consecrated Hosts every two to three weeks and the proper custody of the tabernacle keys as
stipulated by Canon 938 paragraph 5.
By this decree, Christ the King Chapel was elevated to the status of a Eucharistic Center.
