Oriangwa Sub Parish Adjumani to Welcome the Claretian Missionaries
Arua Diocese is set to welcome the Claretian Missionaries, who are expected to arrive at Oriangwa Sub Parish in Adjumani
in mid-September 2026 to join the Christian community in pastoral and spiritual ministry.
The announcement was made today by the Bishop Ordinary of Arua Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki,
during the celebration of Holy Mass with the Christian community of Oriangwa Sub-Parish.
The Bishop made an advance visit to the community to officially communicate the missionaries' forthcoming
arrival and prepare the Christians for their reception.
Bishop Sabino called upon the Christians to work together
and contribute collectively towards welcoming the missionaries, emphasising that their arrival
will strengthen the spiritual life and pastoral activities of the community. He conveyed the missionaries'
message that they are ready to come and serve, and that preparations should now begin to receive them.
The Bishop also commended the Christians for their strong faith and for the remarkable work they have accomplished,
particularly the ongoing construction of the new magnificient chapel. He expressed his appreciation for their commitment to building
a place of worship and encouraged them to continue giving their best in serving God and the Church.
He noted the remarkable growth and unity among the Christians and encouraged them to remain joyful as children
of God, reminding them that Christian joy is an important witness of faith.
Reflecting on the Gospel, Bishop Sabino challenged Christians to make their faith personal, focusing on Jesus'
question to Peter: "Who do you say that I am?" He reminded the faithful that Christianity is not merely about
knowing what others say about Jesus, but about personally recognising Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God,
and allowing that faith to shape the way they live, love and serve others.
