Bishop Sabino shares blessings bestowed upon him by Pope Francis during his recent visit to Rome with the Christians of Metu Parish. This was during the Good Sherperd sunday celebrations at Metu parish in Arua Diocese during which a total of 187 young Chritians were confirmed into the Catholic faith.

Bishop imparted words of encouragement to the newly confirmed, urging them to embrace their roles as soldiers of Christ and actively engage in the work of the Church. "You have reached the age of reason, equipped to discern between good and evil now is the time to stand up for Christ and contribute wholeheartedly to the mission of the Church." Said the Bishop.

He extended appreciation to the priests, the religious, catechists and parents who had nurtured and prepared the candidates for confirmation.

In his call for vocation to priesthood and religious life from amongst the newly confirmed, Bishop recounted on the remarkable contributions of Metu Parish to the life of the church, producing the first ever African bishop in Northern Uganda, the late Bishop Ceasar Asili and the first rector of a National Seminary , Rev.Fr. Nazareno Irinya, the inaugural Rector of Alokolum Major Seminary in May 1993, underscoring the parish's enduring legacy in shaping the clergy.

Bishop Sabino echoed Bishop Ceasar's vision of African missionaries. "Today if we talk of missionaries we should look at ourselves. Many years ago, if you talk of missionaries, people look for some white people. Am not seeing even one. So who are the missionaries today. We are the ones . The white missionaries have done their part and they are gone. Now is our time to be missionaries. Bishop Ceasar fore saw that time will come when we shall be missionaries ourselves and started the Missionaries of Jesus the Divine Mercy. So he has already shown you the way. You only have to continue with it. In other places if you talke about priests and religious life, they dont know. But bishop has shown this a long time ago." Said the Bishop.

While expounding on the theme of Good Shepherd Sunday, Bishop Sabino implored families to embody the virtues of a good Sherperd amongst their members through compassion, guidance, mutual care and support for one another urging parents to lead by example and foster harmony within their homes.
